Dr Java Coffee Company was born out of adding a cafe lounge to the Bright Plaza Pharmacy In 2002. Dana and Toby Porter decided to open a small cafe lounge at the ground floor of the pharmacy since Dana's father, Mike Rudolph, was the owner of the pharmacy and had extra unused square footage in the pharmacy. Ever since, it has been the doctor's call for "two shots and a bagel in the morning".

The Bright Plaza location has been operating for 5 years and is still serving the Whittier community. Then in December of 2006 the Whittwood Town Center location opened it's doors for business and is the staple of the Dr Java Coffee Company.

BACK THEN... This was the first Dr Java Coffee Company Logo back in 2002; an homage to Dr. Rudolph.
